What in the world motivated us to develop SendaPlaque.com?
Quite frankly, it was the Denver Post. Like many of you, every morning I read the news as I eat my breakfast. For years I have been reading about the same stuff…just a different something every day. The local shooting, mayoral and senatorial candidates verbally pounding one another, and police departments blaming each other for errors made are typical headlines. Emotions are running high and self esteem low.
What if we could do our tiny part in changing the world’s consciousness? What if people started feeling better about themselves, and, as a result, were motivated to elevate others? What if, instead of destruction, we could offer a way to creation?
Certainly, SendaPlaque.com is not a cure-all, but it is a step to be looking for the good in others. It’s a start…it’s a movement to think positively, to direct our energy in an uplifting way. Even our mission statement reflects that: To raise the consciousness of all that is recognizably good in people. Take a moment to make a list of those that you could motivate, encourage and appreciate. Even your positive thoughts will be a great step towards societal improvement.
As for me…I think I will quit reading the newspaper.
